About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team in the capacity of a Senior Project Planner, for the rail division.

Working in a disciplined manner to the standards set in the schedule management plan, the successful candidate will act as the lead planner on large scale projects from £5 million up to £50 million plus.

 


 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

As part of your day to day role, you are responsible for the following:

  • Producing outputs and reports from the resource loading and cost loading of programmes
  • Attending project meetings and update the programme.
  • Clearly conveying and communicating on programme pressures e.g. critical path and be able to understand and communicate this to the project team.
  • Leading the planning process for tender and contract schedules.
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills are an essential as you will manage programme requirements on multiple projects.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ensuring all contract deliverables are captured in the programme.
  • Working to a change control process and managing cost and schedule variances and reporting into the commercial functions.
  • Producing of scenario programmes to ascertain best option solutions.
  • Building good relationships within the planning team and project team and adding value to the project functions.
  • Mentoring planners within the planning team and teaching planning principles from the schedule management plan.
  • Assisting and inputting into the company project controls procedures to enhance project and portfolio performance.
  • Experience of working within the GRIP process within the Network Rail Infrastructure.
  • Being able to produce concise reports demonstrating good literacy.
  • Having a proven planning and scheduling thinking approach.

Essential Attributes & Skills

  • Proficient in Primavera Project Planning Tool
  • Proficient in MS Office Software including MS Project
  • A good understanding of Change Control

Desirable Attributes & Skills

  • APM Project Management Qualification
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification
  • Experience in Rail Industry

Schedule

Monday to Friday, Office based position.
