LNE 650v Signalling Power Distribution Renewals

Customer Objective

To replace the existing signalling lineside feeder systems at Healey Mills and Leeds East sections with new class II signalling lineside feeders.

Linbrooke Project Scope

Working collaboratively with Network Rail, GGP Consult, Atkins, Optimus Services Limited, British Transport Police and Samuel James, Linbrooke were responsible for the undertaking of various phase 1 and 2 works, including:

Phase 1:

• 44 km of cable route, including extensive route burial

• Cable turning chambers enabled for Functional Supply Points (FSPs)

• Under Track Crossing (UTX) installation

• Enabling for phase 2

• Installation of Fibre Glass Tape (FGT) Enhanced Class II signalling power cable

Phase 2:

• 2 brick built Principal Supply Points (PSPs)

• 3 existing PSP modifications

• 4 Auxiliary Supply Points (ASPs)

• 134 Class II Functional Supply Points (FSPs)

• Camlin auto-reconfiguration units at strategic locations

• Completion of cable route into PSPs, ASPs and FSPs

• Completion and termination of power cabling

• Commissioning of new dual end fed class II feeders

• PSP alarm connections to intelligent infrastructure through Findlay Irvine Data loggers

Throughout the project, Linbrooke collaborated closely with the British Transport Police in order to find safer locations for the equipment and provide new security methods on the Network Rail Infrastructure.
