ntrs are proud to have welcomed the Department For Transport (DfT), Jacobs, NetworkRail Telecoms and LinbrookeServices to the ntrs National Training Academy on Monday 20th May 2019. The purpose of the visit was to showcase telecoms technologies and discuss the Digital Railway. The tour included demonstrations of Railway internal and external copper and stakka boxes, followed by a display of fibre splicing using single and spiderweb ribbon fibres. This formed part of a visual representation of how far technology has progressed. Attendees also received an introduction to the safety procedures for entering the rail corridor, the challenges faced within rail access planning and a live demonstration of SEI computer-based interlocking using the Ansaldo STS test bed that is within our National Training Academy. In the Q&A session, all attendees were eager to find out more about the challenges faced by delivering training to the Railway and daily operational challenges. We want to thank all attendees for taking the time from your busy schedules to visit our incredible training centre. Also, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the fantastic ntrs team for your efforts in making this a memorable event.
