Assistant Management Accountant

We are looking to recruit an experienced assistant management accountant to work with the Finance department to deliver information to the Senior Management team. The successful candidate will need to be capable of producing information at transactional level to Trail Balance and onward preparation of the management accounts. Ideally the candidate will have in excess of three years practical experience and would have a good knowledge of contract accounting.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Processing of sales applications and certification and maintaining the contract sales ledgers
  • Posting of incoming sales receipts
  • Producing aged debt reports
  • Reconciling all main ledger accounts
  • Maintaining fixed asset register
  • Pre-payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Hire purchase workings
  • Credit control
  • Accruals
  • PAYE/NI control
  • Pension reconciliations
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Assistance in the preparation of VAT returns
  • Assistance in the preparation of management accounts
  • Assistance in payroll

Essential experience required:

To be successful, you MUST have the following experience:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • AAT /CIMA qualified OR qualified by experience. Candidates currently studying towards formal qualifications will also be considered.
  • Experience with Microsoft packages – in particular excel
  • Familiarisation of contract accounting would be an advantage
