Linbrooke Services is a multidisciplinary engineering company delivering connectivity and technology integration solutions across rail, telecommunications, and utility sectors. Our projects are delivered globally from our HQ in Sheffield supported by UK regional offices. This role is based in Sheffield.
The main duties and responsibilities are:
Take ownership and responsibility for the development of technical / engineering aspects of bids and tenders in accordance with all instructions, standards, quality and timescales.
Take ownership for the management & delivery of single discipline or smaller value bids under the guidance of the Bid Manager.
Understand and comply with the Sales & Bid Development process as defined within Linbrooke Services processes.
Assess tender technical documentation to establish the most appropriate technical solution.
Engage with other engineering resources (discipline heads) to support with the engineering bid development.
Develop supporting engineering information in support of bids and tenders including :-
o Equipment requirements / pricing including bill of materials (BOM)
o Solutions architecture arrangements
o Technical interface requirements
o Engineering risks
o Discipline interfacing including workshare arrangements
Work with engineering disciplines to develop labour pricing for all disciplines including management/prelims.
Input bid data into pricing sheets and maintain version control information.
Work with the bids and tenders team to support with the development of all other supporting information for successful bid delivery.
Support during tender stagegate reviews and bid handover to delivery for won bids.
Establish and maintain relationships with customers to support the promotion of Linbrooke Services capabilities.
Support with the preparation of post tender presentations and customer clarifications during the post tender period.
Undertake bid administration and housekeeping tasks as directed.
Understand and comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) as defined within Linbrooke Services processes, including acting as Data Processor (DP).
Ensure that all reasonable care is exercised to ensure that work is conducted professionally, safely and in accordance with agreed standards.
Maintain an excellent understanding / knowledge of relevant standards that may impact on bids and tenders engineering development.
Support Sales during pre-tender activities.
Seek to identify best practice and cost effective solutions for bids and tenders that position Linbrooke to win our tendering submissions.
Support with team improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining the bids and tenders output and efficiency.
Provide guidance to junior staff / administrators.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCE
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
Excellent team member with organisational and time management skills.
IT literate – Microsoft Office including good knowledge of other supporting software including CAD and Primavera P6.
Good understanding of customer submission processes such as BRAVO
Previous experience in railway engineering and have a good understanding of the systems that support the operational Railway including Signalling, Telecomms (Operational and Station) and Electrical.
Good broad knowledge of rail engineering disciplines (telecomms, power, signalling, and civils) in support of bid engineering development works.
Excellent understanding and appreciation of CDM regulations and its application within the rail sector.
Excellent understanding of risk assessment.
Good practical bid engineering development experience.
Knowledge of supporting aspects of bids including, procurement, commercial, HSEQ, project management, design, I&C and handback requirements.
