We are seeking a Head of Bids & Tenders to join our team. Reporting to the Director of the department you will be required to:
Lead and direct the Rail bid function and take ownership and responsibility for the day to day management of the team including strategic bid delivery.
Encourage creativity and innovation within the Bid team.
Consider the Health and welfare of the Bid team.
Support with management inspections and tours as requested by the HSEQ department.
Maintain and foster excellent relationships with customers, industry associations, suppliers and partners.
Implement processes and procedures described within the Linbrooke Services management system for bids.
Develop discipline specific objectives and goals for the team and ensure these are communicated as necessary.
Manage the overall resourcing of the team to ensure adequate and competent resources are available to support business requirements.
Develop and maintain business processes, work instruction and forms specifically relating to the delivery of bids within the team.
Identify process improvements within the Bid team and implement appropriate changes.
Carry out annual staff dialogue/assessment to review performance and learning requirements.
Engage with the Managing Director and Sales function to discuss and agree overall business objectives/goals and actively implement these throughout the team.
Support the HSEQ function in obtaining and maintaining business accreditation for key requirements including Link Up, ISO accreditation and Principal Contractors licence.
Manage & chair Bid meetings/reviews for the team.
Ensure that all reasonable care is taken to ensure that work is conducted professionally and safely and in accordance with agreed standards.
Act as mentor/coach for staff.
Understand and comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) as defined within Linbrooke Services processes, including acting as Data Processor (DP).
Collaborate closely with Sales during pre-tender activities.
Previous experience of Railway Signalling, Telecomms and Electrical infrastructure projects and experience in tendering is essential
Your main responsibility will be to effectively manage the Rail bid team including Bid Engineers and Administrators to ensure that there is sufficient capability and capacity to undertake the required level of tendering to a high standard
You will also be required to produce accurate tender prices, tender documents and help prepare bid proposals for future tenders and in particular large multidisciplinary projects
