West Hampstead Re-Control Commissioning Success

The West Hampstead Re-Control project has successfully reached a significant milestone with the new operations floor being brought into use following the final commissioning, which took place last weekend.

Prior to the works being carried out by Linbrooke Services Ltd colleagues, an extensive 45 rehearsals for the commissioning were conducted.

The commissioning involved seamlessly integrating brand new VSCS workstations with innovative overview screens for Kentish Town, West Hampstead, Luton, and Bedford into the newly refurbished Signalling Operations floor from their temporary location. Construction and fit out of a state-of-the-art control room at West Hampstead Power Signal Box, including new data network and E&P fit out by Linbrooke Services’ colleagues.

The Linbrooke project team has significantly excelled in delivering a comprehensive package of works over the past year, culminating in this momentous occasion.

Notable accomplishments include:

• Installation of 50 km of copper cable
• Installation of 15 km of fibre cable
• Installation and use of 96 Telecoms cabinets and associated stagings
• Implementation of a new Telecoms FTNx network, including new cubicles and associated E&P enabling works
• Execution of 8 Enabling stages allowing for the relocation of the old work station
• Successful Re-control of 11 interlockings, including the migration of Kentish town from Three Bridges ROC
• Installation of 7 WestCad cubicles completed by Siemens
• Full recovery and strip out of the old control panel and room at West Hampstead Power Signal Box
