Linbrooke Hosts Quarterly Safety & Environmental Live Event in North London

Linbrooke hosted Safety & Environmental Live Event and welcomed key speakers: Rob Cairns - Capital Delivery Director, Eastern Region, Network Rail, Jim Mansfield - Route Operations Manager (South) East Midlands, Network Rail, Will Wilson - CEO, Linbrooke Services and Scott Louder - Rail Delivery Director Linbrooke Services.

The event was attended by 50 Linbrooke employees, suppliers and our Network Rail colleagues and featured critical themes of:

  • The Culture within the Rail Industry
  • Electrical Safety at Work
  • Safety Critical Communications
  • Fatigue Management

Covering the importance of Culture within the Rail industry and what it means to him, we were pleased to hear Rob Cairns praising the West Hampstead Life Extension team and its Safety Culture based on data he is receiving from us.

The attendees watched videos of electrical safety practices and listened to safety-critical communications, including pre-recorded calls between the signaller and COSS, to understand the importance of comprehensive communications. We also covered industry-tested fatigue management tools, where Will reiterated the importance of adhering to the 12-hour shifts and risk assessments for anyone working overtime, including travelling time and resting periods.

Scott Louder, Rail Delivery Director, said: 'Being safe is what you do and think. We periodically host in-house safety events to reinforce our safety messages to our employees and suppliers. At the end of the day, all I care about is our people getting home safely and I want people to know they can talk to me anytime. It's all about being approachable, and I will do everything in my power to make sure my people can trust me to Speak Up.'
