London Tram System Integration Project
The Systems Integration project has the specific objective to overcome system obsolescence across the operational tram system by upgrading the existing data transmission network, including close circuit television (CCTV), passenger information points (PID's) and help points (HP) to modern technology using an integrated internet protocol (IP).
The works will provide additional system capacity, improvement of network resilience and replacement of out of date components ensuring data security improvement by using proactive fault reporting.
Project Overview
London Trams operates a network of 39 tram stops across the boroughs of south London centred around Croydon. The tram network provides important interchanges with other transport systems within London including; Network Rail, London Overground and London Underground.
The tram system also includes substations, traffic intersections and Therapia Lane depot where the tram operations are managed. London trams selected Linbrooke, through an open tender process, to undertake these works by providing the necessary design, migration, installation and testing services. The work included assessment of the existing network, system design to IP standard, adoption of free issue equipment and overall system integration to meet modern standards.
