About The Role

To act as an NPG authorised Jointer within the Power Networks department.


ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of your day to day role, you are responsible for the following;

  • To deliver works on DNO electrical assets as defined in the host DNO’s policies & procedures to time, cost & quality standards.
  • Carry out cable jointing on DNO assets.
  • Timely and accurately reporting of incidents and accidents.
  • Carry out site specific risk assessments on a daily basis.
  • Quality & safety are maintained at all times on site
  • Attend safety and team briefs.
  • Fill in timesheet correctly and hand in on a timely basis.
  • Ensure vehicle, tools and PPE are maintained correctly.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The safety of both Linbrooke employees and clients/public who may come into contact with our day to day operations
  • Incident, close call and near miss reporting for operatives within their charge
  • Day to day management of both Linbrooke and its sub-contract resource whilst working on our behalf
  • The safe operational delivery of works as defined by the Resources Manager
  • Carry out daily site specific risk assessments.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of completion of works onsite including

  • The Client and or its agents
  • DNO representatives.

  • Highways authorities

Essential:

  • Electrical craft background
  • Northern Powergrid DNO authorisation – Full L.V. Mains Jointing - (Minimum 6 Months left)
  • Northern Power Grid Card
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Emergency First Aid at Work for Electrical Incidents
  • Manual Handling Practical
  • NRSWA Card – 01 Signing, Lighting & Guarding
  • CSCS Card
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attitude towards safety
  • Working knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental procedures
  • Linbrooke Environmental Spillage Awareness
  • Legionella Awareness
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Face Fit Test
  • Working in Confined Spaces
  • Fire Safety Awareness
  • Portable Fire Extinguisher
  • Reversing of Vehicles Banksman
  • Noise Awareness
  • Hand Arm Vibration
  • Small Tools, Shovel

Desirable:

  • City and Guilds electrical qualification
  • IOSH / NEBOSH or safety related qualification
  • Streetworks Excavation and Reinstatement Excavating in the Highway
  • Asbestos Unit B removal
  • DNO Network Appreciation

Schedule

Monday to Friday with weekend working
